Scarce Texas 1838 Landgrant Map, Thomas Bradford

Scarce 1838 Texas map showing various land grants and colonies by Thomas G. Bradford (Boston, 1802-1887), and engraved by George W. Boynton (Boston, fl. 1830-1850), the map showing the Eastern part of Texas and includes the location of Stephen F. Austin Grant (but not the city of Austin), the Cameron Grant in North Texas running along the Red River, the McMillan & McGlones Grant running along the Nueces River, the Rio Bravo River (Rio Grande) to the south, the lower right "Texas", in the lower margin "Entered According to an Act of Congress, in the year 1833 by T.G. Bradford, in the Clerks Office, of the District Court of Massachusetts" and "Engraved by G.W. Boynton", the map retaining a light green color and possibly faded pink, there appear to be no tears, notations are easy to read, overall sheet approx. 18"h, 15.25"w   *Provenance:  An Austin estate, the map originally purchased from Norman Flayderman, Maine antique dealer, in 1962 according to a typed statement accompanying the map.
