Scarce Wedgwood commemorative University of Texas at Austin plate, blue on a white ground, a detailed transfer of "Gregory Gymnasium," a rope and bluebonnet design frame the scene with the University of Texas seal and the State seal above and below, along the rim barbwire fencing, cactus, longhorns and the lone star, marked Wedgwood, Etruria, England, importer mark for Jones, McDuffee & Stratton Company, Boston, approx 10.5"diam, 1lb Note: A total of ten unique Wedgwood commemorative UT plates in this scarce blue and white palette are offered in this auction. Provenance: From a Rowlett, Texas estate. According to the consignor, these plates have never been displayed and have been carefully stored for 65 years.
