(lot of 16) Engraved crystal drinkware, Rowland Ward, Nairobi, Kenya, from the "Big Game" series, each depicting safari and game animals among African landscape motifs, unmarked, accompanied by maker's catalog and corresponding 1982 price list, including: (6) tumblers, approx 4"h, 3.25"diam; (6) highball glasses, approx 5.5"h, 2 5/8"diam; (2) decanters, (one) having pointed stopper and tapered body, approx 11 3/8"h, 4.25"diam; (one) with octagonal stopper and faceted cylindrical body, approx 9 3/8"h, 3 1/8"diam; (1) ice jug, approx 8"h, 7"w, 4"d; together with (1) Italian molded glass tankard, Fidenza Vetraria, with similar engraved motifs, hinged pewter cover, marked Fi.Ve Italy underfoot, approx 7"h, 5"w, 3.5"d; 15lbs total Provenance: From Donald and Renate Van Stone's Austin, Texas estate. Donald Van Stone served as the Regional Vice President of the First National Bank of Chicago from 1971-1984, a time in which the bank was expanding internationally. After assignments in Germany, Kenya, and Australia, the Van Stones moved to Manila, Philippines where they began amassing an impressive collection of Chinese and Southeast Asian art and artifacts, some of which will be offered in this auction.
