American Arts and Crafts gilt brass seven-light ceiling lamp, early 20th c., having circular ceiling mount, issuing seven hanging arms, terminating on flared and fluted lights, fitted with Quezal(attrib) iridescent art glass shades, shades with gilt trim and pulled feather designs, only the largest shade is signed Quezal to rim interior, smaller shades unsigned, with US wiring, approx 26"h, 20"diam Provenance: From Donald and Renate Van Stone's Austin, Texas estate. Donald Van Stone served as the Regional Vice President of the First National Bank of Chicago from 1971-1984, a time in which the bank was expanding internationally. After assignments in Germany, Kenya, and Australia, the Van Stones moved to Manila, Philippines where they began amassing an impressive collection of Chinese and Southeast Asian art and artifacts, some of which will be offered in this auction.
