(lot of 2) Framed Chinese ink and color paintings on silk, including: (1) Kingfisher, (1) Prunus Blossoms with Insects, sight: approx 12"h, 15.5"w, overall: 19"h, 22.5"w; 14lbs total Note: These paintings were gifted to the consignors in 1979 by the prominent Cohangco (Cojuangco) Family while they toured one of their residences in the Philippines. Provenance: From Donald and Renate Van Stone's Austin, Texas estate. Donald Van Stone served as the Regional Vice President of the First National Bank of Chicago from 1971-1984, a time in which the bank was expanding internationally. After assignments in Germany, Kenya, and Australia, the Van Stones moved to Manila, Philippines where they began amassing an impressive collection of Chinese and Southeast Asian art and artifacts, some of which will be offered in this auction.
