Spanish santo/ altar figure, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 19th c., finely carved, gesso over wood with polychrome paint, set glass eyes, the Virgin Mary in brown velvet and satin robes embellished with lace, spangles and goldwork embroidery, holding a scepter and scapular in her right hand, the infant Jesus in her left, two secondary "Anima Sola" figures, depicting a man and woman consumed by flames, representative of souls in purgatory, on a parcel-gilt rocaille base, approx 32.5"h, 15.5"w, 12"d, 15lbs
