Womb settee, attributed to Eero Saarinen (Finnish-American, 1910-1961) for Knoll International, c.1970s, molded fiberglass shell in dark gray mohair upholstery, loose back and seat cushions, chrome-plated steel frame, apparently unmarked, front right leg intact with restoration at joinery to fiberglass shell, approx 35.5"h, 61"w, 31"d, seat height: 16"h Provenance: purchased as one of a pair in the 1970s and reupholstered in graphite mohair selected by Houston interior designer Sally Walsh (1926-1992), the first regional Knoll representative in Texas.
