Metallic-glazed abstract ceramic sculpture, "Heatwave," signed at lower edge Jason Messinger (American, b.1966), dated [19]99, from the "Mercury" series, with hollow slab-built construction, titled and dated with additional artist's signature to interior, small glaze chip at bottom edge, approx 20.5"h, 20"w, 13"d, 28.75lbs *Provenance: This collection of fine art was generously donated by an anonymous benefactor to support The Settlement Home for Children and its mission. Since 1916, The Settlement Home has provided shelter and essential services to children in the Austin area who lack safe living environments.*
