(pair) Regency period mahogany armchairs, early 19th c., having a curved crest rail over a pierced and carved rectangular back with a central caned panel, scrolled arms supported by turned and reeded baluster-form uprights, seat in later Ronde Villageoise red toile de joie upholstery, on turned and fluted tapering front legs, approx 33.5"h, 22.25"w, 20.75"d, seat height: approx 20.75"h Provenance: purchased from Howard Hand (Texas, New York, 1921-2011), a collector and seller of fine antiques for 75 years
