English brass-bound writing slope/ travel desk, late 19th c., hinged lid with central shield-form cartouche inscribed, "Presented to Mr. James Fleming by his fellow clerks as a token of respect and esteem on his leaving for a situation in Edinburgh, Hawick, 15th Sept., 1884," opening to pen and ink receptacles, and gilt embossed black leather inset writing surface, over concealed storage, approx 7.25"h, 19.75"w, 10.25"d, 11lbs
