(lot of 4) Bolo ties, including: (1) tufa-cast silver (content unknown) ornament and tips, braided black leather cord, apparently unmarked, bolo ornament only: approx 2.25"h, 1.5"w, (1) sterling silver, overlay design of a building, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, ornament marked sterling/ HB (conjoined), bolo ornament only: approx 1 5/8"diam, (1) carved stone with a Kokopelli, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, bolo ornament only: approx 2.75"h, 1.5"w, (1) James Avery, gilt bronze, inscribed "no alliance/ no compliance," gilt-metal bolo tips, braided brown leather cord, ornament marked JA/ bronze/ C-L Division/ 1995, bolo ornament only: approx 1.5"diam; 261 grams total (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
