Victorian papier-mache ladies' writing slope/ compendium box, 19th c., sloped rectangular form, having scalloped-edge hinged top decorated with painted polychrome florals, accented by parcel gilt foliates and mother of pearl inlay, opening to inset velvet writing surface with ribbon trim, and compartment on either side of pen tray, box rising on bracket feet, lid back left corner with restoration, approx 4"h, 13.25"w, 11"d, 5lbs Provenance: A prominent Terrytown, Austin, Texas estate
