(lot of 2) Italian pietra dura paperweights/ plaques, specimen marbles inlaid on black slate panel, including: (1) central image of a stylized sun with porphyry center, surrounded by symbols of the zodiac, chips to underside of slate, approx 0.75"h, 4.75"diam, (1) specimen marble with the various stones identified on the reverse, including lapis lazuli, imperial porphyry, giallo antico, serpentine, breccia di Sparta, etc., approx 0.75"h, 5.5"l, 3.5"w; 2.5lbs total Provenance: From the estate of Carl Carter (Texas, 1955-2023)
