Daguerreotype camera, 19th c., no maker's mark, having an adjustable length walnut three box system (no internal bellows), joinery includes hand cut dovetailing, a fractured rear standard glass translucent plate that lifts for insertion of a copper plate, the tailboard allowing the boxes to adjust in length from 12.25" to 19.5", the brass, screw on, unsigned lens adjusts in length from 4.75"l to 7.75"l, for shipping approx 14"h, 15.5"w, 11"d (lens could be removed reducing width by approx 4.75"), 15.5lbs Provenance: Collection of Sam Westfall, Texas, Kansas including a huge quantity of antique cameras, magic lanterns, related advertising and many parts and pieces.
