Schermuly's Signal Pistol, formerly a Line Throwing Rocket Pistol Rescue Apparatus manufactured by reducing the18.75"l barrel to 3.7/8"l, 1" bore, the brass frame marked at left makers name, patent and "S1" and "P", British markings, a "crane over NP" at left barrel near breech, serial number "14459" at right barrel and again at right frame, wood grips, mostly brass with steel hammer, trigger and thumb lever to open barrel, scratching, action good, vice marking where barrel was held during length reduction, for shipping 6" x 9" x 2", 3.4lbs, SN 6359 (153) *Provenance: Collection of Billy Wayne Dickey, USN Retired (Texas, 1936-2022)
