(lot of 2) Delft tin-glazed earthenware apothecary jars, late 18th c., having a flat metal cover, both with cobalt glaze cartouches and gilt lettering, one inscribed "U Oxidi: Hydr: Nttr", the other inscribed "O Mitihrid.D", one marked at the underside in blue "DWS", the other marked "D over 12", typical small chips and glaze losses,both intact with some crazing and hairlines, lid with dents, each approx. 8"h, 4.25"diam, total of both 3.65lbs Provenance: from the collection of an English gentleman Start Price: $200.00
