U.S. Springfield Trapdoor Rifle, Model 1879, .45-70 caliber, 32.5/8" barrel, two barrel bands with "U" markings, fixed front sight, adjustable rear sight, the breechlock marked "Model 1873, over an eagle on crossed arrows over U S", the lock plate marked with eagle next to "U.S. Springfield, over 1883", two inspector marks at left above trigger guard, two sling swivels,butt marked "2" next to butt plate tang that is marked "U S', wood with scratches and dings, barrel, metal with scratches and dark spots, action good, barrel semi- bright with good rifling, SN 20799 Start Price: $300.00
