(lot of 7) Philippines collection, including: (1) Ifugao people spear head, c.1920, the blade approx 7.5"l, 1.5"w, the socket about 3.5"l, overall: approx 11.5"l; (1) lock from a flintlock firearm collection, likely Spanish, 18th c., quite rusted, appears to be signed, from a collection of antique firearms buried immediately prior to the WWII Japanese invasion of the Philippines as the Japanese confiscated firearms and often killed their owners; (1) Japanese bayonet, Type 30, Tokyo or Kokura Arsenal marking, a second unidentified mark above the arsenal mark, blade: approx 15.75"l, hooked quillion wood handle, steel scabbard, overall: approx 20.75"l, collected after the Japanese occupation ended; (1) Batangas dagger, c.1935, 4" blade, horn handle, leather sheath, overall: approx 7.5/8"l; (1) Manobo people arrowhead dagger, received c.1930, Surigao City, Mindanao, approx 5.75"l, later handle, overall: appprox 9"l; (1) Moorish curved blade knife, 8.75" curved blade, metal handle and scabbard, overall: approx 16"l; (1) knife blade, ethnicity unknown, rusted, edges chipped, the blade: 11.5"l, with tang: approx 17.5/8"l; 4.75lbs total Provenance: Heirs of the estate of Victor E. Lednicky (1888-1970), a resident of the Philippines, c.1914, Chief of the Division of Mines and Mining of the Bureau of Science, later President of Lepanto Consolidated Mining Co., a copper, gold and silver mine.
