Lladró

Porcelain & Ceramics

Spain

Founded: 1953

Lladró is a Spanish porcelain known for elegant, elongated figurines in soft pastel glazes. A staple of estate collections, with retired and limited editions the most collectible. Austin Auction Gallery sells and appraises Lladró.

What it's Worth

Most standard figurines bring modest prices, but large, elaborate, retired, or limited-edition models can reach the low thousands. Size, rarity, and intact condition (no chips to delicate elements) drive value.

Most figurines $50-$400; large, retired, or limited editions $1,000-$5,000+.

Overview & History

Founded in Valencia, Spain, in 1953 by the Lladró brothers, the company became world-famous for graceful porcelain figurines distinguished by delicate features, flowing forms, and a characteristic glossy pastel palette (early pieces were often matte). Value is driven by the model, size, whether a piece is retired or a limited edition, and condition - large, complex, or discontinued sculptures are the most desirable, while many standard figurines remain affordable and widely collected.

Identifying & Marks

Look for the blue printed Lladró backstamp with the bellflower logo; impressed marks and model numbers also appear. The logo style helps date the piece, and matte early works differ from later glossy production.
