The Jo Anne Christian Collection Part Two
Fine Art, Glassware, Furniture, Books
Jo Anne Christian, a lifelong collector of friends, paintings, jewelry, books and other beautiful things, was known for her love of color and her support for the arts. As one of the Three J's--the three women who founded Austin's Long Center for the Performing Arts--Mrs. Christian made an indelible mark on Texas' Capital City. Jo Anne Christian was the widow of George E. Christian Jr., press secretary to President Lyndon Baines Johnson. She was an attorney, an avid historian, a voracious reader and an inveterate theater-goer. Many of the items from her collection date from the couple's time in Washington in the 1960s.
Dreyfus Antiques - Final Inventory Liquidation
For years Dreyfus Antiques, recognized by its iconic Eifel Tower replica, was Austin's source for exceptional French antiques and home furnishings. After its closure several years ago the remaining inventory was placed in storage and has remained there since. We will offer this inventory at auction to include hundreds of French antiques, home furnishings, and collectibles.
